Our Board members are listed under “Board” as a subtitle on our website, click on the 2005 -2006 Officers and Board .

  Registration:
“Registration” is one of the subtitles under our website. Club dues are $85 for anyone curling in the Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday leagues. Early bird special if paid by December 15, 2005 will be $75. Sponsor dues are $140. First year League Students are free, those returning pay $10 membership dues. Any sub that plays over three times shall be considered either a regular member and is expected to pay dues, or pay $10 per night. All dues must be turned into the League Coordinator, Chuck Reynolds, by January 1, 2006 . First year Curlers may have a different option this year; look for the amount in the October Newsletter.

  Open Curling and Community Classes:
Community Ed Classes on Curling will be offered this year on Tuesday & Thursday, November 15 & 17 beginning at 7 pm each night. Enroll by contacting the DL Community Ed Office at 847-4418 . Open curling will be available the weekend of the 19th of November. If you would like to practice curling during Thanksgiving weekend, please let someone from our Board know. Our season begins November 29th.

  2005 Club Championship:
Have we got a deal for the teams who won their league last season! We have a Club Trophy with a 2004 champion, but we never had a Club Champion tournament last season. We are going to have the League winners play for the Championship. If you were one of the fortunate ones to play on two winning teams, you will have to select which one to play on for the Championship.

  Curling Supplies:
Let us know what you need and we can order it for you. We will have brooms and sliders available for sale. Contact Ron Windloss at 847-2849.

  Building Project:
We have attempted to get estimates on our remodeling project and have not succeeded. If you have contacts with Contractors, please let them know we are taking bids on our project. We are looking at not excavating the ice area but actually leaving it intact and covering it with fill and placing our tubing on the fill. This would save us from having to excavate and haul the fill and old tubing. We are going to remove the back wall and move our ice area back. This will allow us to have more space for our Club Room and be closer to our Chiller with our tubing. This season, we are looking at building a new wall in the back, beginning April of 2006. If we can get bids this winter we may be able to start work on the whole project next summer.

  Minnesota Senior's Men's Bonspiel:
Looking for Curlers 50 years old or older for the Senior Men’s Bonspiel in St. Paul, January 13-15, 2006. We would like to have 3-4 teams representing Detroit Lakes. Contact Chuck Reynolds if interested, 847-6888.

  Boat Storage:
Open to all Curling Club members. The Curling Club is going to offer boat storage at the Club. We will start on October 1 and all boats will have to be removed by April 1, 2006. The annual fee will be $100 per boat and must be paid in advance. If you are interested, please call Ron Windloss at 847-2849 or Chris Steen at 847-0139. This will be on a first-come first-serve basis.

  Smoke Free Curling:
Thank You! ... to all of our Canadian curling friends who last year suggested we go SMOKE FREE during their Bonspiels. The response to going SMOKE FREE was so well received by them and us, that the Board made a decision to make the Club completely SMOKE FREE, beginning this year!
