|
It seems like only yesterday we were finishing up the last few ends of the curling season and now the new season is just around the corner. Last year we had a record number of curlers and a record number of first year curlers. It looks like this year might be even better! | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Capital Campaign Update Things are going great with the "Curling Into the Future" Capital Campaign and club improvement projects. To date we've raised almost $50,000 in pledges of our $125,000 goal. We've paid for the renovation of the clubroom, made our down payment on the new plant, and haven't had to go to the bank yet. There is much more work to be done though. We have received many $500, $1,000, $2,500, and $3,000 pledges and donations. We even have 2curlers so far to have pledged $5,000 to the projecty! If you have pledged, thank you! If you haven't yet, please review the materials we sent to you at the beginning of the summer and consider investing in the future of our club. For more information contact Andy VanDam at 844-6594. |

| Work night will begin In September on Tuesday nights. We haven't had regularly scheduled work nights this summer because of the tremendous amount of work being done in the clubroom and in the back room to ready the club for the new plant. We have a good number of small projects that need to be finished as we get ready for the start of our news season. Please make an effort to come out to the club beginning at 6:30 pm every Tuesday night starting in September. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The family of the late Vern Turner Has requested that our annual bonspiel be named "The Vern Turner Memorial Bonspiel". The family is prepared to purchase a permanent trophy and display case for the Bonspiel. Also, they intend to enhance the payouts for winning teams and cover the next year's entry fee for the 1st event champions each year of the bonspiel. A discussion and vote on this will occur at the September 10th board meeting. Please come to the meeting with any questions or concerns or speak to a board member. |
