I hope every one had a great summer and has now been bitten by the “curling bug”. It won’t be long now and the shouts of SWEEP! will be filling the curling club. Last year was a great year for curling in Detroit Lakes . We had a visit from Olympic curler Pete Fenson. We hosted the Minnesota State Seniors Bonspiel and we had a very successful Vern Turner Memorial Bonspiel. We also hosted a number of Canadian Bonspiels again and I can’t thank Roger and all the volunteers enough. It is the members that make out club so special. Thank you! .

  Work Nights
We will be working at the club on Monday nights through September and October. If you have the time and would like to help out it would be appreciated. We have a number of minor projects to complete before the season begins. We will start around 5:00 pm .

  Boat Storage
Ron Windloss is the contact person for boat storage this winter. It is a first come first served operation with the people that had boats stored last year getting first dibs. If you have any questions please call Ron.

  League Dues
League dues and sponsor fees will stay the same as last year. The dues are posted on the curling club’s website www.lakescurling.com

  Capital Campaign
If any one would like to contribute to the capital campaign please contact Andy Van Dam. We are still looking to replace the pipes in the ice surface and can always use some help financially. To everyone that did contribute / pledge to the campaign I want to extend a big “Thank You” We couldn’t have done it with out you.

Old Photo's
The board is interested in getting copies of old photos that people might have of the curling club. We would like to hang pictures of past members and events that are of interest to the club on the walls of the newly remodeled clubhouse. If you have anything that we could display on the walls please let any board member know.

Comunity ED
Community Ed will be held at the club on November 18th and 20th. The open house is planned for November 22nd and 23rd. Please pass these dates on to anyone you know that would be interested in learning more about curling.
