Curling Into The Future
The very first discussions of Detroit Lakes starting a curling club were in 1979. It was established in 1980, and in 1981 the first sheets of ice were laid in a boat storage building. While we have loved this building, and it has served us well over the last 4 decades, the maintenance needs have become more than what is feasible.
The Lakes Curling Club has a building fund, and will add to it again this year with the proceeds of the raffle. We are in need of a building committee that can move forward the vision of a new building so that we can continue this sport for future generations to enjoy.
If you or someone you know would be willing to serve on this committee, please contact one of the board members.
